👋 Hi, I’m Colin!
I’m a designer and creative all-rounder working from Gadigal Country.

I work with brands to elevate their creative direction 🎨, visual identity 👁️ and storytelling 📕

I also play with motion 🏃‍♀️, illustration 🖍️ and copywriting 🖊️

I’m currently looking for further opportunities in human-centred design, inclusive design and UI/UX. If you’d like to contact me, drop your catchiest subject header to fung.col@gmail.com.

UI/UX

As part of the General Assembly UX Design course, students were asked to develop a product to address a pain point that was personal to them. My topic was on the concept of play and how to reintroduce it into the lives of busy adults.

I prototyped, tested and presented a daily drawing app that is fun, intuitive and convenient to use. Drawdle provides a daily activity which prompts the user to respond with an illustration that is unique to their own interpretation; motivating them to flex their artistic muscles and get the creative juices flowing again.

Brand guidelines
and design systems

Branding is my forte. I have supported the rollout of two company rebrands where my responsibilities have included brand ideation, guideline edits, implementation and company-wide workshops.

I have also integrated brands into design systems and created design systems from scratch. My highlight has been joining Shippit’s small but mighty Website Redesign project group. This core group redesigned Shippit’s website from the ground up and I was part of a design team of two where I assisted on systems design for typography, iconography and more foundations.

Publication
and editorial design

With prior experience working in journalism and media industries, I have vast experience in the world of print. I take much pride in my expertise in both visual and written communication and have designed reports, articles and features for a wide range of clients.

Personal highlights include the relaunch of Shippit’s State of Shipping report. The report was a landmark, Australian-first resource collating data from thousands of retailers and shoppers and millions of deliveries. I acted as sole art director for the new look and design of the report, which contributed to a 10 point increase in industry share of voice upon its release.

Videography
and motion design

I have no formal training in videography or motion design, but working with lean in-house teams has pushed me into territories that I would otherwise have never explored. My creative agility and get-it-done attitude is on full display having filmed and edited interview content, webinars and animations.

My career highlight was a series of educational stop-motion animations created for the NSW Environment Protection Authority that shared easy tips to reduce food waste at home. I storyboarded, shot and frame-by-frame edited the videos entirely in-house to share kitchen hacks in an easy-to-follow and fun way.

Event design

I have designed for events of every size and every budget – from intimate networking socials to large-scale ceremonies. I ensured that no detail was spared which included print and digital marketing, merchandise, event day collateral and wayfinding. My highlights in the event space include leading design multiple years on OzHarvest’s annual fundraiser, CEO CookOff; and transforming Allianz Stadium into a sea of purple for Shippit’s flagship event, #Scale.
